He (E.B) just isn't connected with any saints, IMO.

So, we just don't bring it up much and leave the rest to their child-like wonder and imagination.

The baskets aren't found until AFTER Easter Sunday mass and the person/thing that hides them... well, the verdict is still out on that. But for us, we try and focus on the real JOY of Easter, that just so happens to come loaded with a lot of chocolate. It's all chocolate here and I'm okay with that!

hmmm, maybe I should make this mini-novella into my OWN blog post, eh?Crafty Phttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13770432469384389912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9000126026144085446.post-58487961047994949342009-04-01T11:12:00.000-04:002009-04-01T11:12:00.000-04:00boy I needed to read this today..thanksnice to kno...boy I needed to read this today..thanks

nice to know I'm not alone in these strugglesdave holzemerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13669553696405075891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9000126026144085446.post-65654176908598383712009-04-01T09:52:00.000-04:002009-04-01T09:52:00.000-04:00Oh man. Obviously, to preach the Gospel, but was he really intended to stay there for any length of time? I believe Troas was kind of a planned "detour" (I've really benn into the Amazing Race lately). There was certainly a purpose for him being there and it's an amazing story, too! (read Acts 20:1-38) But the lesson we can learn from Paul is that he is always so connected to the purpose of his mission. He gives it everything he's got (whether his mission was to persecuate the church or to evangelize the church!).
I agree that ministry doesn't always go as planned, but everything is for a very specific reason. Troas was part of his ministry but his final destination was to be in Rome and he was working his way there. SO, to answer your question, yes, Paul was to leave Troas. It was all part of the greater picture of his mission to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth!Crafty Phttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13770432469384389912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9000126026144085446.post-20412563815529319672009-03-31T13:17:00.000-04:002009-03-31T13:17:00.000-04:00Of course he should not have stayed. I mean, yeah, if he stayed, he might have been able to be more effective, but he didn't have "peace of mind" about being there. I guess this just goes to show Paul had a tough time hearing God sometimes too.Alex Olijarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02161925783172576084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9000126026144085446.post-64417476689548778422009-03-31T12:10:00.000-04:002009-03-31T12:10:00.000-04:00Woof! But are we to walk through every door the Lord has opened for us? Sounds like we (read: I) could always stand to pray more. And that God can use us even when we make excuses and miss out on opportunities... Ever since my son was diagnosed with Autism people and the medical profession asked if I would medicate - now don't get me wrong - it is for some people (I agree with that), but I think too often in our culture people are looking for the quick fix - the cure all pill.
In most cases antibiotics don't work, especially in the case of sinus infections. I swear by and my chiro does too - probiotics everyone in my family takes one to two a day. I load up on zinc liquid if we get sick and good old saline nasal spray work as well as the netti pot - Rachel you can use while preggers or nursing!
I encourage everyone to use what nature has for us. This looks like an individual hot tea server thing that one fills with warm water and a salt solution packet (a million come in the box with the pot). Bend over the sink and pour into one nostril and it (hopefully) comes out the other nostril. Very cleansing. And good for those of us that find ourselves preggers and cannot take a single medicine or herbal supplement.
I, personally, do not like the 5 Hour Energy. I only took it once, though.
